Shuttle-UM is a shuttle service that is available for all the university students, staff and faculty. Bus services include the DC Metrobus which also stops on campus. The university has been committed to encouraging bicycling on campus through the installation of covered bike storage outside the newly built Oakland dorm and security lockers in the Mowatt Lane Garage.

The College Park Area
There is a variety of recreation opportunities at the center available for preschoolers, teens, children, adults as well as senior citizens. Youth Soccer Complex, the Youth Soccer Complex serves the residents from all over Prince George’s County. It consists of three soccer fields which are short-sided and are used for summer camps, soccer classes and a variety of soccer league plays.
College Park Youth Services Center, this center has a multi-purpose room, a warming kitchen, office space, storage areas, and restrooms. There is a basketball court that is located outside the center. Lake Artemesia Natural Area, this is a public park which consists of a thirty eight acre lake, aquatic gardens and a handicapped accessible fishing pier. The lake is connected to Calvert Road Parkand Aviation Museum and College Park Airport through miles of hiker-biker trails.
Bird watchers can catch a glimpse of ibis, orioles, finches and other birds at the Luther Goldman Birding Trail. Lake Artemesia can also be used for fishing though a non-tidal fishing license will be required for persons 16 years and older.
