On December of 2008, Houston City has announced their plan to buy the Williams Tower Park and Fountain from Hines REIT. The city will manage the site as a public park securing the remarkable park and landmark water wall fountain from the risk of additional development.  The city and Hines will share for the upkeep and the maintenance costs of the fountain and park. Another park in Uptown is the Post Oak Park that is located at the intersection of the 610 Loop and the Post Oak Drive.
