The University of Wisconsin is known as the home of the badgers. This is their team mascot. They are a member of the big ten conference. Their team colors are red, black and gold. Their football fans are some of the most loyal ever. On game day, the cheers from the fans can be quite loud. The badger is native to the state of Wisconsin. The animal is known to be quite a tough fighter. A badger has been known to take down a foe twice its size. This makes the badger a great mascot for this college.
There are about 43,000 students that live on or around the campus. The campus is a city within itself. It has a world renowned hospital where research is a top priority. Wisconsin is a cool weather state. Grass grows quite lush here. The university has one of the top dairy’s in the world. They produce cheese, milk, yogurt and ice cream. The dairy on the campus raises money for further programs. People come from all over to buy the wonderful dairy products sold here.
Dale Chihuly is one of the greatest glass artists ever. A graduate of the university, he has set up a foundation for the art department. Many of his original works can be found in the buildings on the campus. The museums also feature work bu his students and traveling exhibits. The university also has its own police force and emergency squadron.
It is very easy to travel around the campus. The Badger Bus line is the free transportation service for students and teachers. You can get from one point to another in a snap. The bus stops are all over the campus. You can find a schedule just about anywhere.
