|The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign began in 1867, it is in the twin cities of Urbana and Champaign in east-central Illinois. The University has a reputation as a world-class leader in teaching, research as well as public engagement.

There is a thirty acre demonstration prairie as well as over fourteen miles of hiking trails.
The Japan House which is located within the campus has a mission to bring about cultural understanding and offer exposure to new perspectives.
