        Things to do in St. Petersburg
        St. Petersburg, also known as the Treasure Coast, has a history of pirates who invaded this area in the past.
        Each year the Tampa-St. Pete area celebrates an event known as the Gasparilla Pirate Festival which a pirate named Gasparilla and his buccaneer’s crew invaded the area. Today it is one of the most celebrated festivals and is fund for the entire family.

        Among the most popular attractions in St. Petersburg are its nearby beaches. Just to the north is Clearwater which is a major tourist destination due being among the best vacation spots in Florida. If you enjoy museums then you should drop by the Salvador Dali Museum, which has a huge collection of his best works. For those who love sports the Bay area has a team for most. St. Petersburg hosts the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team.

        About the St. Pete Area
        The St. Pete area is central to many of the Bay area cities. You have quick access to several areas from St. Petersburg. To the south you can take the Skyway Bridge to the Sarasota and Bradenton area. To the east you can take the Courtney Campbell Causeway or the Howard Frankland to Tampa. North of St. Petersburg you head towards Clearwater, which has some of the best beaches in the world.
