Boston. Massachusetts has been a center of ocean commerce even before Europeans knew it existed. The port has been a major cruise destination over the last 400 years.

Some of the more respected and most frequently recommended shuttle services from the cruise port to any part of Boston are Boston Limo and Party Bus and Boston Limo. Boston limo and Party bus are ideal for large groups and the fare includes drinks and food.

Local taxis are available as you step off the ship. Local bus service is about one half mile from the cruise port. You must walk to the bus and wait times are around 12 minutes depending on your destination. Rental cars can meet you in the cell phone area if you call ahead.

About the Port of Boston Massport
Boston’s cruise port is located on the South Boston waterfront. The facility handled more than 300,000 cruise passengers in 2014. Regular cruises to Bermuda, Canada, the tourism centers of New England history, San Diego, the Caribbean, Canada, Holland, Denmark, and other locations depart and arrive daily. The major carriers are Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Lines. The 2015 schedule includes 115 different ports of call. The cruise port is separated from cargo traffic for traveler’s convenience and safety.

The cruise port and facility provide a breathtaking view of the Boston skyline and are a favorite of local residents for viewing fall colors from the ocean. The City of Boston has spent about $11 million in renovating and developing the cruise port so that it has become one of the most modern and easily navigable facilities of its kind in the world. The renovation tripled the amount of space available for ships and passengers at the cruise port. The port is about 10 miles from Logan Airfield. The cruise port has a special cell phone waiting area for those passengers that plan to be picked up by locals.

The Boston area and tourist sites nearby
Boston is naturally famous for its part in the United States War of Independence. The port is only a few miles from Boston’s Freedom Trail that takes you through the majority of historic landmarks associated with the Revolutionary War. You can even visit the home of Mother Goose – really the home of the author.

Boston is famous for its theater district. Six different venues provide nightly and afternoon performances ranging from the newest plays to Shakespeare. Music venues range from the famous Boston Symphony and Boston Pops to the newest techno bands. Boston is famous for its "beans" but more discriminating diners know the city as a seafood paradise. Shopping is fabulous in Boston at Beacon Hill, Newbury Street and the Prudential Center.
