About The Ohio State University
Since its beginnings it has grown into the 3rd largest campus in the United States. The school operates regionally in Wooster, Mansfield, Lima, Newark, and Marion. The University Area is located near the OSU Hospital and The James Cancer Research Hospital.
Things to do in Columbus
University sport are big on campus; the OSU Buckeye Football team plays at the Ohio Stadium. OSU baseball and hockey is hosted at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center which also host concerts and monster truck rallies. If you are more into the arts the Wexner Center for the Arts has a show weekly from international films, modern dance or live theater. At one time it hosted an Andy Warhol installation. Studio 35 is also a popular place to visit, they show independent films, a bar, and they commonly have local brewery beer tastings.
The Port Columbus International Airport is about 10 miles from the OSU campus. There is not a bus that travels directly from the airport to the campus. Travel by public transportation will take more than an hour whereas travel by car or charter will take 10 to 15 minutes.
Restaurants near OSU
There are many budget friendly meals in the University Area. One of the more famous food chains is White Castle which is open 24 hours seven days per week. Buckeye Doughnuts and Hound Dog are also open 24 hours a day and they offer budget friendly meals also. If you want to splurge a little and enjoy a seafood dinner visit the Columbus Fish Market; entrees are reasonably priced.
