        The Triangle Transit Authority or TTA also operates fixed routes between Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, and Durham. 
        NC State has its own bus service on the Wolfline. Service on the Wolfline is free and they have multiple routes that serve the campus.

        The Raleigh Durham International abbreviated RDU is the second largest airport in North Carolina. It is situated between the cities of Raleigh and Durham. The airport is 14 minutes 11.2 miles by car Northwest of the University on I-40 West. The Raleigh train station is one of the busiest Amtrak stops in the Southern US. It offers daily service between Raleigh and Charlotte, New York City, and Miami with several stops along the way.

        North Carolina State University is a research university located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It’s known as NC State. NC State operates on a land, sea, and space grant. The school forms one of the corners of the Research Triangle (together with Duke, Durham and NC Chapel Hill).

        The city does take its name from Sir Walter Raleigh who established the Roanoke Colony in what is present-day Dare County, although Raleigh is located in Wake County. The city is divided into geographical locations (downtown, midtown, east, west, north, south, and southeast). NC State is located the south of the city.

        Things to do in Raleigh  
        William B. Umstead State Park is a great place to hike, fish, canoe or have a picnic. It is located near the RDU airport. NC State Wolfpack is a part of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the locals love a good rivalry game of football or basketball against Duke.The North Carolina State Fair is usually 10 days long held in October. Enjoy deep fried fair food from Twinkies to corndogs plus rides. Lake Johnson Nature Park is ideal for hiking and biking. You can also rent Paddle boats.

        Clyde Cooper’s BBQ is a favorite among the locals and has been around since 1938. The lines can’t get long though. Another local favorite is the Flying Biscuit. Try their shrimp and grits or the fried green tomato BLT. Enjoy Jazz and dancing while you dine at The Irregardless Café. Although many of the Krispy Kreme closed nationwide North Carolina still has one located at 543 North Person. Krispy Kreme is arguably one of the best doughnut shops in the World.
