|Greyhound operates a bus terminal at the Kemper Street Station on the main floor and Amtrak Crescent can also be taken from the ground floor of the same station.|

The Greater Lynchburg Transit Company GLTC operates the local bus service and provides shuttle service to LU. The GLTC LU buses are free and only operate around the University area. Fare on the bus is inexpensive for single direction trips but multi-day passes are available. However outside of downtown and the university area a car is necessary. Trips by bus may require long walks and travel time is in excess of an hour.
