About Exposition Park
With an ever-increasing population of about 32,000 residents, the neighborhood of Exposition Park lies in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles on a land area of 1.85 square miles, and just a short transfer service to Los Angeles airport. With over four billion visitors early, the Los Angeles Exposition Park is one of the top tourist destinations in the state. The park covers over 160 acres of land and has been in existence since 1872. Originally it was an agricultural park, but was renamed Exposition Park in the year 1913.

The park has many attractions. One of these is the Science center, a huge science museum that is great for kids or adults who are science enthusiasts. If you’re more of a history than a science person, don’t worry. The Natural History Museum isn’t far away. This well-known museum is hope to many extraordinary exhibits, including the "Dinosaur Hall". Another museum to mention is the African American Museum, which was added in 1984.

Aside from museums, another interesting area in the Expo Park is the Memorial Coliseum. In the past it has hosted the World Series, two Super bowls and two Olympiads. Local athletic teams also utilize its facilities, such as USC’s Trojan football team. Although this Coliseum is famous, the Olympic Swim Stadium is also quite well known. The stadium has classes ranging from private lessons for advanced swimmers to classes for small children. They also offer a junior lifeguard program. A newer sport commodity is the Soboroff Sports Field opened in 2009. It has various teams including high school varsity soccer teams as well as soccer teams comprised of small children.

In contrast with the sports stadiums and field, the Exposition Park also contains a famous rose garden. This rose garden has been used in several motion pictures, so you might recognize its gorgeous grounds. It is an attraction for many filmmakers as well as photographers. This is a more peaceful and relaxing option. As far as relaxation goes, there is also an outdoor amphitheater that is perfect for picnics. The space is sometimes used for concerts and can be rented out to host your own business or personal event. Overall, the Exposition Park has a variety of different entertainment and learning opportunities.
