About Cudahy
This city has been named after Michael Cudahy, a meat-packing baron who purchased two thousand seven hundred seventy seven acres of the land in 1908 and then had the brilliant idea of selling off one-acre lots at a time, mostly measured in fifty to one-hundred feet in width and six-hundred to eight-hundred feet in depth, similar to city blocks. These parcels were referred to "railroad lots".

In 2010, the household average income is around thirty thousand per year. As for education, Bell High School serves the residents of Cudahy, and the city is part of Los Angeles Unified School District.

There are four public parks the city is proud of, a historic library, and also a Job Skills Fair, a Safety Fair, and an on-going video series called ‘Chain of Good People’ celebrating local heroes and people that have gone over and above what is expected in their community of Cudahy.

As far as housing is set-up, 2007 Census reported there are five thousand residential housing units that are owned, and five thousand that are rented in this quaint little city.
