About Bayonne Bayonne is one of the largest cities in New Jersey, with a land mass of eleven miles. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority does run bus lines around the seventy six miles of roadways in town and to the surrounding areas. Bus transportation is also provided by the New Jersey Transit Authority. CNJ Trains does run a minimum amount of routes out of the city. Enterprise and Aaron Auto have local Car Rental agencies in Bayonne. Chase Limousine and NJ Taxi also have limousine or taxi transfer services to JFK International. The Bayonne Bridge is the fourth longest steel bridge in the world, until the completion of the New River Gorge Bridge. Constable Hook is the site of two burial grounds, tank farms and also the Bayonne Golf Club. The Hackensack RiverWalk begins in Bayonne and connects to the Hudson River Walkway, which ends in a wetlands preserve. Shooter’s Island is a bird sanctuary which is closed to the general public. It is situated on a thirty five acre island. Points of interest and located on the National Historic Registry are the Bayonne Truck House No.1 which is the Bayonne Firefighters Museum; the First Reformed Dutch Church of Bergen Neck and Robbins Reef Light, a lighthouse which was constructed in 1883. Bayonne is home to the Hudson Plaza Hotel; it is budget friendly and has Internet access. The Hudson Plaza offers free parking. Ramada Hotel and Best Western are both located a few minutes’ drive from Bayonne. They offer amenities for their registered guests. Bayonne is home to a wide variety of cuisine.
