About Atlanta Airport
The Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal that opened in 2012 of May puts a new face and features on international travel at one of the busiest airports of the world. The brand new services and facilities will assist meeting the needs of the increased overseas tour in the coming years.
The very first thing travelers flying out of Atlanta will see is the newly refurbished gate to the airport. Travelers will access the new terminal from the eastern part of the airport, off I-75 at exit 239. The major terminal that now accommodates only local flights, still accessed from the novel airport gate off I-85. The international terminal is equipped with own parking on which side of the international airport. They offer free twenty-four hour shuttle between the two terminals.
Eight airlines will run international flights out of the new services including Air Canada, AirTran/Southwest, Air France, British Airways, Korean Air, KLM Royal Dutch and Lufthansa. Atlanta’s airport today has forty international gates, twelve in the new Concourse F and the rest is in the current Concourse E. travelers are now capable of flying to almost eighty locations in fifty countries. Following the end of their merger, AirTran/Southwest is anticipated to put in new routes to the Mexico and Caribbean. Other airlines are anticipated to add extra routes to some countries in Asia and South America as well.
