Things to do in Scottsdale
There are group adventures, sports, and casinos and gambling. You can take a tour or outdoor adventure by day, and do some gambling at Casino Arizona or the casino located at Talking Stick Resort at night. Scottsdale is also a great wedding destination and an excellent place for shopping sprees. Art lovers will be smitten with the galleries that dot the Marshall Way Arts District. It features a long-running downtown weekly gallery art-walk. For those who prefer to get their relaxation swinging a golf club, you’ll be pleased to know that Scottsdale is home to some of the absolute best golfing in the country. You will find dozens of both private and public championship courses scattered across the city.

Also located in the McDowell Mountains, off toward the east, and the Camelback Mountain toward the south, is a little town called Paradise Valley. It was once a rural area adjacent to Scottsdale, and got its name from three surveyors that were sent to that region in 1889 by the famous Rio Verde Canal Company. It is full of multi-million dollar houses and surrounding cliff sides, and draws in Hollywood celebrities, professional ballplayers and novelists, to enjoy its picturesque landscape.
