About Waco Airport
Waco Regional has a long, storied military history, ever since its beginnings as a pilot training station for the United States Army Air Force. The 33rd Flying Training Wing also used Waco Regional during World War II. Once the War Assets Administration determined they longer needed the airport for military purposes, it was donated to the city of Waco, who still owns it to this day.
Just over 60,000 passengers make use of Waco Regional each year, traffic numbers that rank Waco as the 20th most trafficked airport in the state of Texas. The airport is planning on an expansion that will allow for more flights, adding more jetways and a bigger lobby.
The airport’s terminal is decorated with clear signage to aid travelers. American Eagle is the primary flight service provider for Waco Regional, with the majority of flights heading to the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan region. There is no Wi-Fi in the terminal, as it is expected to be added during the expansion.
