|While there are no rental cars or shuttles available at the airport, Troy Goshen Taxi and Barbara’s Reliable Taxi are both located a few miles from the airport and are open late for travel needs.|
Montgomery Regional is a commercial airport located roughly an hour from the campus. It is located in the heart of Montgomery and spans over 1800 acres of land. There are eight rental car companies available on site at the airport, including Avis, Hertz and Budget. Taxis are available in the taxi rank and do travel to the Troy area.
Troy University has three shuttles. The Green Shuttle runs through the east and northeast sections of the area. The Red Shuttle runs through the south area of the community and the perimeter of the campus grounds. The Blue Shuttle services inter-campus stops and the north section of the area. There are no shuttles to any airport from the campus.
Troy University, founded in the mid 1880’s, is a public university within the city of Troy, Alabama. Troy University has four campuses in all, the main campus sees an average of 7,000 students annually, and the University sees an average of 18,000 students per year.

Troy University also offers an ROTC class for Army Cadets in pre training. There are also many University sponsored and student run organizations that bring a variety of opportunities to students.
William G. Gregory and Kevin R. Kregel (both astronauts), John C. Hanley (U.S. Brigadier General), and Ben Bates (professional PGA Golfer), as well as others, are notable people who attended and graduated from Troy University.
The Area Near Troy University
For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are several amazing hiking areas, one of which is a historical trail marked with information plaques on local history that happened there. There is also plenty of shopping outlets for those who enjoy local style wares.
