The airport handles mainly domestic flights, with major flights to mainland Spain being served on the island’s other airport Tenerife North. The airport code is (TFS). TFS is located approximately 37 miles south of the island’s capital city, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The airport can be easily accessed using the TF-1 highway, and it currently handles about 9 million passengers a year.
Tenerife South Airport is mostly served by low-cost carrier airlines like EasyJet, Air Eurpoa, Airline, Thomas Cook and others that are similar. Although largely dominated by low-cost carriers, there are easy connections to several major European destinations.
