All buses originate from the bus station on Market Street in St. John’s. Chartering a Yacht is also a possible option for getting off the island to some of the other islands.

V.C Bird International Airport abbreviated ANU is located in Antigua 5 miles (8 km) northeast of St. John. It serves Antigua and Barbuda twin island nations situated between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

About St. John’s Airport
The airport serves more than 900 passengers each year. The airport is named after the first prime minister of the islands, Sir Vere Cornwall Bird. There are more than 90 thousand people that live on the island. There are a number of other smaller islands that make up the entire Antigua and Barbuda nation. Antigua is the larger of all of the islands; and St. John’s is the capital.

Things to do in St. John’s
All types of water sport are available on the islands including snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, swimming, and fishing. In late July and early August people visit the Caribbean for carnival. Its celebrated at the Recreation Grounds in St john. Shop duty free at Heritage Quay where the cruise ships dock. You’ll need your airline ticket or ship ID cards.

Take a eco tour at the Stingray club where you can swim with a stingray. The tour last 4 hours. Go on a zipline obstacle course and feel like Tarzan as you swing through the trees. Go on a hike to the Pillars of Hercules or to Fort Berkeley.

St. John’s Restaurants
Enjoy fresh seafood, which is very prevalent on the islands. Most dishes will include seafood, fresh tropical fruits, and there are plenty of Rum drinks. There are many international restaurants found in Antigua that offer Italian, British, Mexican and Asian foods.
