About Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport
Cambodian government authorities have put plans in place to construct a new airport some 38 miles southeast of Siem Reap to replace the current Siem Reap Airport. Construction is yet to commence. REP serves a hub for Cambodia’s main carrier Angkor Air as well as Sky Wings Asia Airlines. Popular airlines that ply the Siem Reap route include Asiana Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Air China, Silkair and plenty others.
There are many distinctive landmarks in this region but one well known place is the Angkor Wat or Wat Temple which contains the remains of the Khmer civilization which ranges from the 9th to the 13th century.
