Donated to the city of Pittsburgh by real estate mogul Henry Phipps in the year 1893, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a complex of buildings that is nested in Schenley Park. It has an exotic architecture that is marked with sophisticated metal and glasswork. Upon entering the conservatory via the main entrance, you’ll first see the Palm Court. The court has a high glass peak and hosts various species of palm trees. To the west of the Palm Court is the Serpentine Room. The room has a curved pathway that is brick-walled. The pathway is lined on both sides with plants and some hang from the ceiling. There are several other exciting rooms in the facility some of which are the Fern Room, Orchid Room, Stove Room and several others.
