New Haven Airport Shuttles
Commuter rail service connects New Haven to New York City as many New Haven residents work in New York City. Its 2 hours by train and it makes a good day trip for those wanting to see the city. The CT Transit operates the public transportation system in New Haven with routes that connect to East Haven and other parts of Connecticut (Hartford, Stamford, and Waterbury just to name a few).

Yale University, a very prestigious college is located in New Haven. To some degree New Haven is the co-capital of the state but Hartford is the actual capital as a result New Haven is called the cultural capital of Connecticut.

Things to do in New Haven           
Take one of the community bike rides or bike to the local beach. There are many shoreline bike routes. Hike to the Three Judges Cave in Summit of East Rock Park and West Rock Park. Music lovers should visit the world famous Toad’s Place or the Firehouse 12 to hear some great musical acts.

Visit one of the museums in New Haven to learn about the early history of New Haven and the United States. The East Haven Town Beach is a fun place to have a picnic, play volleyball or on the bocci courts, or for the kids to play on the playground.

New Haven Restaurants
Enjoy old New Haven’s world style at any number of the Italian restaurants on Wooster Street. Some of the local favorites include Sally’s Apizza and Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. Once you’ve feasted on pizza head over to Libby’s Italian Cookies and pasties and have cannoli’s or some other great Italian sweet treats. Vegan and Vegetarian restaurants can be hard to come by when you are traveling so Claire’s Corner Copia is a rare find. Located in downtown, the menu changes regularly but they have some great gluten free bakery items including Lithuanian coffee cake a local favorite.
