Komatsu Airport is operated and managed by Ishikawa Prefecture and the Japanese Air Self-defense Force and has the IATA code KMQ and the ICAO code RJNK. Located in Komatsu City – which lies between Kanazawa (the capital city of Ishikawa Prefecture) and Fukui City – this medium-sized regional airport serves the Hokuriku region, the southern axis of the Ishikawa Prefecture, and the northern axis of the Fukui Prefecture. Komatsu Airport is the largest airport in Japan’s Hokuriku region.
