Find that part of town by knowing what to explore before making arrangements, choosing between the uptown fun in the Cultural District, home to museums and easy access to Stuart Park, while the quieter North End offers quaint beach access as well as the local flavors from Sandhill Wines. Stay close to a variety of urban park by staying in the South Central neighborhood instead, enjoying the canal’s flow at Millbridge Park, historic homes in Guisachan Heritage Park, plus easy access to the William R. Reserving a shuttle is only half the battle, while keeping up with your bookings is where true travel skills come in. Stay organized by printing out your confirmation email, also considering the helpfulness of a travel journal to keep any extra bookings in one safe place, whether it’s special reservations to one of the many wineries across town or a sightseeing scheduled with Heart & Soul Tours. Be sure to also keep important personal documents backed up on a flash drive, including passports, driver’s licenses, and social security cards.

Start with gorgeous graces with nature, moving from the towering trees at Stephens Coyote Ridge Regional Park to the awe-inspiring boardwalks at Lochview Trail. For hidden beach access, drive down Dewdney Road near McKinley Landing, exploring at least 8 roadside parks looking out at the water, with the underrated McKinley Mountain Park just north of all the pit stops. Business travelers also have a variety of green to golf on, from Shadow Ridge Golf Club just south of the airport to The Okanagan Golf Club on the west side.
A busy university town in addition to all the stoic beauty, you’ll have plenty of downtown trends to explore, from the stylish eats that compliment the vines at Quails’ Gate Winery to the Cultural District Kelowna Art Gallery. Also located in the Cultural District is the Okanagan Wine and Orchard Museum, which showcases the local history of wine and honey production, while the Okanagan Military Museum provides an inside look at vintage weapons, uniforms, and memorabilia.
Families looking for some fun should cool off at the indoor water slides and wave pools of H20 Adventure instead, or warm up at the Big White Ski Resort, especially known for its stunning sunsets across pearly treetops. Don’t end the trip without trying the flavors at BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery, by far Kelowna’s most visited restaurant due to its New American dishes and wine tastings – for something more filling, head to The Fixx Café instead, home to an open kitchen and unique pasta dishes.
