About Historic Atlantic City Convention Hall
Declared a national landmark in 1987, the Boardwalk Hall is home to the Miss America Pageant, and has hosted hundreds of different events for decades. Originally built in 1929 as America’s first convention center, Boardwalk Hall has provided visitors with an assortment of entertaining events for over 80 years. Legendary appearances from Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Elton John are just a few of the names that have graced its famous marquee. The convention center boasts an impressive 141, 000 sq. ft. arena with seating available for 14,770 guests, alongside the elegant Adrian Philips Ballroom, which seats 3,200.
The convention center was renovated in 2001, transforming it from its original convention hall into the beloved multi-purpose special events facility which hosts any type of event, from concerts to trade shows, business conferences to sporting events. Since 2003, Billboard Magazine as well as Venues Today have rated Boardwalk Hall as the top-grossing mid-size venue in the US or in the world.
It has also been hailed as the #1 Top Stop in the US based on its spectacular box office performance.
