About Hayes Valley
Hayes Valley is among those neighborhoods in San Francisco that experienced great changes over the years. One of these changes is the reference used in conducting illegal activities for money, which was "gentlemen and ladies of the street". Now, this same reference is used to refer to the city’s heap restaurant goers and window shoppers.

The once tenements and crack houses were now changed into So-ho style art galleries, top-notch restaurants, hip nightspots, fashion boutiques and interior-decorating shops. Hayes Valley’s prominence was further increased when Erich von Stroheim used it to film an epic movie in 1924, the Greed.
