About Gainesville Airport
Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) is a regional airport servicing North-Central Florida, and is located just fifteen minutes from University of Florida and UFT Health (Shands Hospital). GNV offers fourteen daily weekday departures and non-stop services to five different cities, including Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, and Charlotte. Whether it be for business or vacation, major airlines offer passengers a choice when traveling. Delta, American, US Airways, and Silver Airways allow passengers the freedom of non-stop flights or connections to other parts of the United States or international destinations.
Gainesville Regional Airport has recently taken steps to provide a better overall passenger experience as well sustainability initiatives. $8 Million has gone to terminal renovations, commercial aircraft apron expansion, and a Rental Car Return and Readiness Center. Sustainability efforts can be seen as soon as one pulls up to the terminal in the solar panel project covering the roof, along with LED lighting and recycling throughout the terminal.
Short and long term parking is available to passengers for a small fee, and the Tailwind Bar and grill’s two locations within the terminal allows passengers a place to relax and grab a bite to eat before boarding their flight. Free Wi-Fi is available in all public areas of the terminal and just three boarding gates will ensure a stress free experience through the security line. The cell phone lot provides a place to wait for passenger pickup instead of repeatedly circling the terminal.
