Four Corners Regional Airport is abbreviated FMN and located in New Mexico. It’s just a mile northwest of Farmington in San Juan County.
The airport has free parking even for long term it also has Wi-Fi. More than 36,000 people travel through the airport each year. You will need to fill up your gas tank; stations are miles away from each other. Don’t forget to try some of the native Navajo Nation foods like frybread. Frybread is a tortilla or sopaipilla; it’s usually served with honey or powdered sugar.

Some fill there like a taco with ground beef, chili beans, lettuce, cheese, and tomato. It’s referred to as a Navajo taco. Many of the roadside stands you pass will offer both types of frybread with your choice of fillings. 

About Farmington Airport
Farmington itself has a population of more than 45,000 people and it’s the largest city in the county. It’s situated on the Colorado Plateau at the junction of three rivers: San Juan, Animas, and the La Plata.

The area is known as Four Corners because the Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico border create a quadrapoint. The Navajo Nation is prominent in the area.

Things to do in Farmington
The Aztec Ruins National Monument was the home to the Aztec and is just northeast of Farmington. Salmon Ruin an ancient Pueblo and Chacoan site and was constructed in 1090 CE. Shiprock is another desert treasure; it’s a winged rock.

The set of many westerns have been located at this very spot. It’s free to visit. Monument Valley is also another iconic landscape that’s been featured in many movies and television shows from John Wayne to Forrest Gump. This one is off Highway 163 just north of Arizona.

Hotels near FMN
The Kokopelli’s Cave Bed & Breakfast is a great place to stay. Its located in an underground cave that was excavated from the cliff of Tertiary Ojo Alamo sandstone. It overlooks the La Plata River.

The temperature inside the cave stays between 68 and 73 degrees all year long. Continental breakfast is served; there is a kitchen to prepare your own lunch and dinner.

There is a waterfall Jacuzzi/shower, flat screen TV, and cell phone service is available. The cave easily sleeps six. If you don’t feel like cooking your own meals visit the Three Rivers Restaurant and Brewhouse where they serve American food; they won the best beer and cider award at the New Mexico’s Fair Pro-Am Competition.
