|This arena is located at Tallahassee Florida on the campus of Florida State University, or FSU. It was opened in the early eighties and cost close to thirty four million dollars, which the city financed.|
Public transportation is available that includes Taxicabs and MARTA bus lines. Students, along with faculty and staff can utilize the StarMetro bus service that goes throughout Tallahassee and is free to anyone who swipes a valid FSU card.
About the Donald L. Tucker Center
It got its name from a former ‘Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives’, Mr. Donald L. Tucker, Esquire, who was also an American Ambassador. It features nearly fourteen thousand seats for hosting concerts, Family Shows and sporting events. It has the capability to increase its capacity by utilizing risers.
It can boast of being the host of the Tallahassee Broadway Series (11 years) and also presented tours like Fosse, Rent, Chicago, Riverdance, Cats and Les Miserables. It has hosted the WWF & WWE, WCW Thunder, as well as both men and women’s basketball. It was the home of the Florida State Seminoles (men & women basketball). Before moving the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks (ice hockey) from the ECHL was hosted here. The history of sports here is very rich and the list is long for this center.
