Built in 1957, Cork Airport is an international commercial airport located just four miles from the center of Cork City, Ireland. It is one of three main airports in Ireland for passenger travel after Dublin Airport and Shannon Airport. It is the state’s second busiest airport by passenger traffic. The airport sees an average of two million passengers annually on an average of 80 flights per day. The airport services 13 major international airlines, including Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional, as well as several companies who offer seasonal travel. The airport is also a stop over for Fed-Ex Feeder.

ORK Airport Terminals

Taxis are located outside the main terminal in marked areas. The average cost from the airport to the bus station is $4.50 (10 Lira) and $7.00 (15 Lira). All drivers offer clean cars, printed receipts and in many cases, currency exchange options for the area.

The airport is located less than a ten minute walk from the Irish Railway System. The train system stops at the airport, the local bus terminal and the train terminal all within a few minutes. The two major bus companies that offer services at the airport are Bus Eireann and City Link.

There are many religious buildings throughout the city. There are 2 cathedrals throughout the city, St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Finbarre’s Cathedral but the most well known building is the Shandon church tower which is commonly known as teh symbol of the city of Cork.
