Bert Mooney shuttle to the airport
Butte, Montana is known for its rich cultural history, beautiful landscape and national parks. The Bert Mooney airport is the gateway to a wonderful vacation.

At the Butte visitor’s center, you can get information on departure and arrival. You may feel like you have stepped back in time. Each trolley car resembles the original cars that ran during the early 1900s. Painstaking time has gone into each reproduction, so that it complements the history.

Butte sits between two national parks, Yellowstone and Glacier National. The ice age molded much of the land here. You can see how glaciers weaved their way through the mountains and valleys. Natural springs and creeks run beside them as a testament to its geology past.

Toad Hall Manor is another way to step back in time. It was Montana’s first bed and breakfast. When you arrive here, you will be welcomed by sherry and chocolates. You then will stay in a room with a fireplace and its own seating area. The surrounding could not be any lovelier. Whether you are here on business or vacation, you will remember Butte, Montana forever. Rich history, timeless landscapes and beautiful surroundings are not to be missed.

        Gateway To Butte, Montana
The airport is named in honor of Bert Mooney. He was the first person to fly mail into Yellowstone National Park. This changed forever the way information was received out west. The airport is serviced by SkyWest Airlines. The landscape is nothing short of stunning around this hub of business, and tourism. The county is known as Silver Bow. It is named in homage of the mining history of this region. The airport itself offers a number of car rental services for your transportation needs. One look at the wide open sky and rolling landscape, you will want to stay forever.

        Butte Airport History
Many of Butte’s first settlers were of Asian heritage. Their rich culture is still alive here. Every year Butte has one of the largest Chinese New Year parades in the west. The Mai Weh Museum in downtown Butte has artifacts and historical memorabilia.

Butte was first settled by miners coming to seek their fortunes. Copper was especially plentiful. William A Clark settled in this region to open copper mines. In 1884, he commissioned that a mansion be built to take folks breath away. In 1888, he and his family moved into their new home.

The Copper King Mansion is on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. It has an extensive collection of china, clocks, and demitasse cups from all over the world. It is open for tours just to see how another time period lived. Lucky for you, it is also a bed and breakfast. There are four private bedrooms. Each bedroom has a mantle that was carved especially for that room. Each one has a different type of wood, and compliments the other rooms of the mansion.
