There are no onsite hotels at the theme park, but Courtyard Marriott Hotel, located a few minutes walk from the park is an upscale establishment with an outdoor and indoor pool. About Busch Gardens
The park was initially called Busch Gardens: The Old Country, which reflected a European Theme. The resort park was then called Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 1993 before later being renamed Busch Gardens Europe back in 2006. In 2008 it was once again renamed to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The park has an estimated 3.1 million visitors each year, which placed it among the top 20 most visited parks in America.
In addition to the European theme and its landscaping, Busch Gardens is renowned for its roller coasters, which include Apollo’s Chariot, Alpengeist and Griffon, which won number 4 for the best steel roller coaster in 2012 during the Golden Ticket Awards.
