        About Boulder City Airport
        The airport services Boulder City, Nevada and is a convenient option for people who are flying charter flights to go into Las Vegas as well as into northern Arizona. The majority of flights are those of charters, though there are also various helicopter tours that are available from the airport as well, as a result of its proximity to the Hoover Dam.

        The Boulder City airport is one of the busier municipal airports that operate, with approximately 220 flying in or out on a day. There is approximately 234 aircraft based at the airport, with the majority of them being single engine airplanes.

        The airport is public use and is only one nautical mile from the business district of Boulder City. A new terminal, which was 30,000 square feet in size, opened up in 2009, which services the Grand Canyon Airlines as well as Scenic Airlines.

        It is also important to note that the Boulder City Airport does not have the same code issued by the FAA and the IATA. Although most airports have the same, the FAA code is BVU while the IATA code is BLD. When searching for BVU with the IATA, it will reference the Beluga Airport in Beluga, Alaska.

        Passengers arriving into the five hundred and thirty acre airport at Boulder City, may see from the skyline, an array of casinos and hotels to begin their winnings and stay. Quality Inn Boulder City is the closest and features its own shuttle service. There is also the Boulder Dam Hotel, which is very close to the Boulder City Hoover Dam Museum. There is also the Boulder Inn and Suites as well as the Hoover Dam Lodge, which is found inside of the national park. A little further away in Henderson, there are several other hotel options, which include various Hilton and Marriott chains as well as those that have casinos attached to them.

        Once you arrive and you decide on site seeing, consider going to see Lake Mead National Recreation Area which frequents many water enthusiasts who enjoy all types of water sports, or just enjoy the fantastic scenery.         If the heat gets to unbearable, make sure to stop by the Arizona Hot Springs for a quick dip into cool waters. This is sure to drop your core temperature a few degrees while having fun at the same time. While doing so, you will have an excellent view of the mountains and peaks and valleys around you.
