Things to do Bogotá Airport
The city is one of the largest in all of Latin America and it is the largest in Colombia. The Andes Mountains sit to the east of the city and can be viewed from just about any point in the city. Take a downtown day tour, it’s a historic district located in the La Candelaria neighborhood. On the tour there are many museums, camera opportunities, churches, and other historical buildings.

On Fridays and Sundays visit Avenida Septima; they close the street at night for live shows. Shows include a variety of street performers, magic shows or you can buy goods and crafts. You can ride a train or go for a walk in Parque Simon Bolivar just like the locals do. Near the mountains there are many trails to hike, bike and walk.

Bogotá Restaurants
Latin cuisine is marked by its spicy use of chilies, but in Bogota you enjoy the variety of spices can cooking techniques that will vary slightly from your local Mexican restaurant. Arepas is a corn pancake no quite like a tortilla that is slightly salty and sometimes include cheese in the mix.

Empanadas are also a popular dish made sort of like a calzone its meats and vegetables with either rice or potatoes folded into a pastry. A tamal; you probably know as a tamale is usually enjoyed for breakfast with café con leche. While this type of cuisine is plentiful you won’t find any Asian cuisine, there will be a few Italian restaurants and pizzerias or hamburger joints are easy to find.
