There is no onsite parking lot shuttling service although motorized carts are available during the 9 to 5 shifts for the disabled and elderly please inquire at baggage claim. Meadows Field is located at 3701 Wings Way in Bakersfield, California and uses airport code BFL. Meadows Field offers three parking lots. There is one for long term parking, one for short term and one reserved for the cars associated with the rental company. There is a rental agency on site which offers services from Avis, Hertz, Budget and National. Please make book ahead for reservations online and vehicle availability. About Bakersfield Meadows Field Airport is the closest airport to Bakersfield, CA. It is about 3 miles northwest of town. The airport offers both international and domestic flights and is also known as the Kern County Airport. Spanning more than 1,300 acres of land, the airport sees an average of 650,000 passengers annually on more than 115,000 flights, both commercial and public. The airport services Frontier Airlines, United Express Airlines and US Airways Express Airlines in addition to Ameriflight and FedEx cargo flights. There are two main terminals at the airport. One is for domestic flights and the other is for international flights. The domestic terminal houses four gates and services United Express Airlines and US Airways Express Airlines. As of 2008, the domestic terminal was closed both for renovations (which did not complete) and for the decline in flights due to 9/11, which leaves the domestic terminal gates also serving for the international flights.
