The airport’s assigned International Air Transport Association code is ACC and is located in the southernmost part of the country and is considered Ghana’s top international airport.
The Kotoka International Airport is capable of handling aircraft as large as the Boeing 747-8 and servers numerous carriers and destinations. ACC serves as a major hub for Africa World Airlines, Antrak Air and Starbow Airlines. The airports International destinations include major cities in the United States, Asia and Europe.
Kotoka International Airport consistently handles over 2.5 million passengers annually and ranks as the 17th busiest airport in Africa. The airport also provides service for numerous charter and cargo carriers as well as commercial passenger traffic and also has a military presence.
ACC has two terminals to service its passenger flights. The terminals are connected and one terminal is used primarily for domestic traffic and the other terminal supports the international services.
