Mumbai Airport Transportation

As the 2nd busiest airport in the country, Chhatrapati Shivaji International offers easy access to the heart of downtown, with less than a mile’s distance from the city. Make your trip special by exploring every corner of the acclaimed metropolis, whether you’re interested in getting intimate views of the Arabian Sea via private sedan, SUV, or van, or wanting to take it easy with a simple pick-up service, from the elegance of a stretched limousine to the business-friendly lifts courtesy of taxi cabs.

BOM Ground Transportation
There are 2 railway lines and 2 subway lines offering close access to the airport. The Vile Parle Station is close to the Domestic Terminal and connected to the greater Mumbai Suburban Railway, while the Andheri Station offers closer access to the International Terminal as well as the same connections. The closest subway stops include the Metro Airport Road and Marol Naka Stations, both north of the terminals. Without any instant on-site access except through bus lines outside Ground Transportation, shuttles can get you out of the airport a lot faster – book with either sedan or taxi cab providers to get a move on, getting the priceless gift of more time in return.

Shared Ride Van
Another alternative to a speedy shuttle is a just-as-fast shared ride van. Book with local providers to get one-time lifts to your hotel, whether you’re staying at the modern Hotel Suba Galaxy or planning an opulent 5-star getaway to Sofitel Mumbai BKC.

Private Sedan
If you’re the type to explore a city’s unseen side, go intimate with one of airport transportation providers private sedans. Take advantage of your ability to come and go as you please, whether that means soaking up the sun at Juhu Beach or spending the day at Sanjay Gandhi National Park’s extensive greenery and caves.

Local Personal Drivers
A city of 19 million and counting, Mumbai is so big that you couldn’t possibly see it all in one trip. But you can get around with someone who has, reserving a local personal driver to explore parts of the city that interest you most, from acclaimed Bollywood landmarks to scenic picnic spots away from downtown.

Private SUV
Families or mid-sized groups of up to six passengers should go the simplest route with a private SUV from local shuttle providers, taking advantage of the day with all the freedom in the world, whether it means taking the kids to KidZania or wowing all ages with the architecture of the Basilica of Our Lady of The Mount.

Taxi Cab
A country keen on conventions, taxis are a common site not only in Mumbai but all over India. Avoid the hassle of traffic and parking by getting dropped off at special events, whether it’s at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel or the massively popular Victor Menezes Convention Centre.

Stretched Limousine
Find the shiniest corners of Mumbai with a golden chariot at your side, booking a stretched limousine from area limo providers to make grand arrivals, whether it’s to the fine dining of Masala Library or the memorable entertainment inside the historic National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Mumbai Airport Shuttles

With instant access to all of Mumbai’s charm, Chhatrapati International makes it easy to get through the heavy traffic. Avoid having to follow the bus schedule outside the airport by getting picked up in an instant with one of the local providers of shuttles, also considering area shared ride vans for competitive rates and equal comfort.

Look forward to whatever side of town your shuttle is headed by doing a bit of research first, whether it’s toward the north side’s eclectic Kandivali West neighborhood or the north-central blend of tropical beauty and hi-tech modernity in Andheri East. Those in the peninsula regions of Dadar, Worli, Nariman Point have Mumbai’s best escapes to treasure, from historic docks serving fresh catches to waterside parks looking out at the stillness of Mahim Bay.

In addition to knowing where to hang out, make sure you’ve got the means to get there by paying close attention to your shuttle reservations. Do this by printing out your confirmation email, or by keeping a personal journal with you for special notes and a long list of to-do. You should also consider coordinating shuttle pick-up time with your hotel’s earliest check-in, if your flight time permits. As a last resort, remember to ask the airport’s on-site information desks for help.

Mumbai Destinations
Make the most out of your time in India’s largest city by exploring all Mumbai has to offer, from the modern landmarks made famous by Bollywood films to the ancient caves on Elephanta Island. Start your varied journey at Mumbai Harbour, home to the world-famous Harbour Bar, which offers early 20th-century environs alongside hard drinks by the water. Just outside the bar is a ferry to the acclaimed Elephanta Caves, home to ancient carvings dedicated to the god Shiva as well as breezy island beaches. Continue your journey into the natural with a walk through the expansive Sanjay Gandhi National Park, located just north of the city and offering miles of trails as well as a lion & tiger sanctuary, not to mention even more ancient ruins at Kanheri Caves.

Once you’ve gotten your fill on the old, explore the relatively modern at the famous Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, an astounding 19th-century Gothic Victorian structure known as the Grand Central Station of India. Compliment the era with a visit to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai afterward, a shopping landmark founded in 1869 and offering a range of unique souvenirs, toys, and locally beloved songbirds, while the equally popular Colaba Causeway offers a unique route to Old Woman’s Island: through historic shops & vendors that make up the region’s Old Bombay. And when the day comes to an end, don’t forget to try out the region’s most popular restaurant, Shree Thaker Bhojanalay, the best place to eat in Mumbai since 1945.
