A petite isle in the Philippines, Boracay is beloved for its white-sand beaches and long coastal roads perfect for isolated drives. The main arrival point for cruise attendees is located across a narrow strait in Caticlan, a small city home to a busy jetty port along the northern tip of larger island of Panay. Guests are carried to shore through boat rides from locals, or official ferry departures from the Caticlan Jetty Port. For help planning the day, seek guidance at My Boracay Guide, a tourist info center just a short walk from the port - transfers through town include bus rides to Iloilo City via the Caticlan Bus Station, while both the Caticlan Jetty Port and Caticlan Ferry Terminal offer scenic transfers into the bright waters of Boracay. Meet-and-greet services can make things helpful once on the island, whether it be through a local personal driver who knows the best hidden beaches or a taxi best for all-in-one locales like the luxurious Golf and Country Club.1

Upon arrival to the Boracay Jetty Port, guests will find themselves in large crowds with just a handful of restaurants and beaches out of arm’s reach. Before escaping the crowd with a day of beach-hopping, be sure to bring good shoes, as there are many sharp shells along most beachfronts. Closest to the jetty is Cagban Beach, a modest hangout with rocky coves and a few snorkeling opportunities, while the slightly further Tulubhan Beach offers vivid views of exotic birds and echoey coves. A bit closer to the island’s narrow central strip of land is the Boracay Beach Path, a breezeway lined with skinny palms and upscale resort restaurants, especially popular dining options including the Spanish delicacies of Dos Mestizos and the chatty environment of Real Coffee & Tea Cafe. Before heading back to the cruise ship, walk along the distant Puka Shell Beach on the far north end at sunset, taking one of many shaded bamboo chairs while watching boats pass.
