About Sao Jorge Island Airport
Sao Jorge is separated from Pico and Faial by a 9 mile (15km) strait. It is a part of Azores which is a group of Portuguese islands in the Atlantic Ocean. There is also really good Portuguese beer and the local sodas are pretty good also. Atlantida Restaurant is located in Santa Maria they serve traditional dishes like grilled squid cod au gratin or hake fillets. When you have time to spare, call ahead to Tony’s Restaurant for their famous Cozidodas Furnas. O Pescador Restaurant serves fresh fish and seafood, its located in the town center; it has a friendly atmosphere and great service.
