 | The Pine Bluff Convention Center seats 8,500 and features 22,984 square feet of space. It is a multi-purpose arena with a 40-foot high ceiling. It plays host to local sporting events and concerts, car racing, rodeos, wrestling, basketball and boxing matches for starters. |
About the Pine Bluff Convention Center It is also used for circuses, banquets, trade shows, conventions, and dances for the local area. It has 5,000 permanent seats that will hold as many as 2.500 for banquets or up to 1,296 for classroom style. It features 4 restrooms, 5 dressing rooms and 4 concession stands. The banquet hall carries 14,400 square feet of space and seats as many as 2,000 theater-style, 1,000 classroom-style, and 1,400 for banquets. It can be easily divided into 4 smaller rooms and features a modern full-line kitchen. What makes it unique is its multi-colored lighting arrangement. It sits adjacent to a 310 square foot meeting room. The theater is something to appreciate. It seats 1,899 and is used for Broadway shows, special ceremonies, recitals, opera, concerts, and all sorts of special events. The stage is a large 93 feet 3 inches by 47 feet, and is able to handle 600 theater-style, 300 classroom-style and 450 banquet-style. There are 5 dressing rooms, all at stage level. This convention center is the home of the ‘Arkansas Rivercatz’ of the ABA (American Basketball Association). Things to do in Pine Bluff If you have an interest in glass-blowing you should stop in a James Hayes’ place. He has his own studio in Pine Bluff where he works with magnificent colors and amazing shapes in creating glass works. One of his accomplishments was being invited to design an ornament for the Christmas tree at the White House. For Nature lovers who are into their gardens, there is the Japanese Garden located at the Civic Center. It was a gift given by the sister city of Pine Bluff – Iwai City, Japan.
