About Naples Municipal Airport
APF is located in Collier County, just a few miles northeast of Naples, Florida. The City of Naples Airport Authority owns Naples Municipal Airport.

Since the 1920s, there have been plans flying to and from this part of the country. The beach and local golf courses were used at landing strips at that time! It wasn’t until 1942 the airport was constructed, and it was made specifically for the U.S. government in their World War II fight efforts. By 1947 the airport and its land was returned to the City of Naples.

Since the 1950s, the Naples Municipal Airport has been primarily used for private aviation and aviation businesses. Currently, this airport does not offer commercial flight service to the public, but is used by several air charter carriers like: ExecAir, GulfCoast Airways, Naples Air Inc., and Naples Jet Center.

In addition to charter services, Naples Municipal Airport has many businesses that offer services located on its grounds: Europe American Aviation, London Aviation Group, Naples Air Center, and RexAir Service Center all offer flight training, with some of the mentioned companies also offering sales, maintenance, and aerial photography. Prime Planes Inc. offers maintenance, Immaculate Flight offers aircraft detailing, Naples Flying Club, Inc. is a non-profit flying club, Med-Fly is for the FAA Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, and Airport Pilot Shop offers pilot supplies.

Naples Municipal Airport complies with Federal Aviation Regulations who is in control of the safety guidelines for commercial airports that serve commercial airline service. And since this airport is a certified as an air carrier airport, security is the same level as commercial-service airports and abides by all Transportation Security Administrative directives.

This Municipal Airport offers executive hangar leasing and storage unit rentals. Other businesses on-site are: Avis Rent-A-Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental/Alamo, Thrifty Car Rental/Dollar Rent A Car, and Hertz Rent A Car.

Naples is one of the only American cities that’s got the benefit of having such a beautiful and safe view of the Gulf of Mexico, giving the city its own unique feature that can’t be taken away. Erected in the late 19th century, the city is popular for fishing, dolphin spotting, as well as its calm and soothing waters.

Naples Botanical Garden
Naples Botanical Garden is a gorgeous area filled with dozens of acres of handcrafted gardens, making for a fun-filled afternoon of walking or having a picnic. The garden is also known for the astounding beauty due to the fun eco-friendly boardwalk. Admission ranges from $9.95 – $14.95 depending on the age of the visitor – children under 3 are free.

Located in the general southwest region of Florida, the Sanctuary offers a pedestrian boardwalk a little under 2 miles, wet prairies, and beautiful marsh ecosystems that are home to some of the most delicate species of the region.

Naples Pier
Known for being a historic pier for fishing, bird watching, and observing scenic sunsets, the Naples Pier has become a staple to tourists and locals alike. Though the pier is typically crowded with many people, there’s usually a private spot somewhere that you’ll be able to find, and with delicious concessions before you walk in, you can even enjoy a nice meal while enjoying the view.

Flying into Naples Municipal Airport
Known for being one of the first US Army Fields during World War II, Naples Municipal Airport is now a less extreme, and a lot more relaxing to fly to. With a small bundle of only three airlines, the airport is small, but good enough to fly to from select cities. If you’re from a city that Naples Municipal Airport doesn’t offer, it may be best to book a flight at Southwest Florida International instead.

If you’re in need of ground transportation after you land in Naples, you can call Naples Airport Shuttle for private car services, buses, as well as limousines for reasonable prices and times. Public accommodations are limited, so try using Uber or Lyft for some 21st century transportation.
