Griffith Park Airport Shuttle Service
Though many parts of the Griffith Park may still look as they were when the area was occupied by Native American villages many years ago, the park has experienced various recreational transformations. Today, the park provides quite a number of recreational activities which include splendid attractions for families, hiking, horse riding, cultural centers and other interesting activities for the purpose of recreation. In a bid to prevent unauthorized access into the park, the area is surrounded and fenced by protective barriers.

Today Griffith Park, which is the realization of the dream of one man - Griffith Jenkins Griffith, is enjoyed by both the locals in Los Angeles and tourists visiting the area from around the world.

Griffith is a municipal park located at 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, on the east side of the mountains of Santa Monica right in the neighborhood of Los Feliz in Los Angeles, California.
About Griffith Park
Sitting on a large land area the park is known to be the second largest Californian Park after San Diego’s Mission Trails Preserve. Ranking the 11th largest municipal park in the US, Griffith Park is also known as the Central Park of Los Angeles.

As one of Los Angeles’ busiest sites for on-location filming, the park has gorgeous and splendid scenes that have close resemblance to that of Hollywood and Burbank from which numerous shots can be taken to yield different pictorial outputs. It is difficult to find a location in the park that has not been once videoed or recorded for a movie production, get dropped off from LAX airport to here, and experience the wonders of what Griffin Park has to offer.

Some popular movies that have been produced on this location include, Rebel Without a Cause, The Rocketeer, Van Helsing, Yes Man, The Terminator and The Majestic. One prominent and most featured site in the park is the Bronson Caves. The site is mostly used for filming science fiction and climatic senses. Some of these movies include, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the Searchers. It is really amazing to discover how movies that seemingly look strangely realistic were filmed in such a common place.

Griffith Park derived its name from an American philanthropist, Colonel Griffith J. Griffith, who emigrated from South Wales. The speculation for gold mine led to the purchase of a portion of Rancho Los Feliz in 1882. It was in 1896, that the first move which led to the creation of the park was made, when Colonel Griffith cropped a portion of his acquired land estate (about 3,015 acres) and handed it over to the people of Los Angeles as a Christmas gift so it could be used as parkland.

Beside this enormous gift, history has it that the construction of the Greek Amphitheater and the Griffith Observatory and hall of science were part of his initiative to develop the park. However, these would not have been achieved if not for the reasonable trust fund he left behind for the completion of the work after his death in 1919.
