Memphis International Airport is the central hub for both national and international Fedex business activities. Business groups have rated the airport highly for its services and location, easily accessible to interstate highways. The airport supports an average of six million passengers annually and is a central site for Delta Airlines, providing travel to North America and Amsterdam. Other major airlines as well as smaller local jet services connect travelers with many local, regional and national business destinations.
With three main terminals, A,B, and C, food, beverage, and shopping sites are easily accessible, as well as ATM’s, and hotel reservation and car rental services. There are also TDD device services (for deaf and hard of hearing) and currency exchange available within terminals A and C. A minute away from the passenger terminal, travelers will find the award winning Radisson Hotel. Future developments at the airport include reconstruction of the parking ramp, a major improvement project.
Downtown Memphis runs along the Mississippi River and is filled with history from the Chickasaw Indian tribe to the Battle of Memphis during the Civil War to modern day where it has left its fingerprint on the music industry. Memphis is home to some of the most famous musical talents such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Muddy Waters and Johnny Cash. It also is based for many corporations such as FedEx, AutoZone and International Paper.
