Parking tickets are issued from ticket dispensers when entering each parking lot. Tickets are presented to the cashier upon exiting. Parking designation row letters are put up to help locate your vehicle. Drivers should take note of their designation letter to make them easily find their vehicle upon return. Shuttles also run from the airport to the cruiseport, Kahului Harbor.
Kahului is not that big an airport, and there isn’t much activity to do. During your free time, you could visit any of the few restaurants to get a taste of local food.
Kahului Airport ranks as the second busiest airport in Hawaii, and is the newest when it comes to terminal facilities. A roadway network connects the passenger terminal, cargo, air taxi/commuter, scenic operations, aviation facilities and other airport maintenance facilities to the Hana and Haleakala Highways.
Personnel at Kahului Airport also handle management and operations of Kapalua-West and Hana Airports on Maui Island; Lanai Airport on Lanai Island; and Kalaupapa and Molokai Airports situated on the island of Molokai. There are several dining and shopping options available for travelers at Kahului Airport. These are however limited and operational hours, which change seasonally, are based on flight schedules.
