Cairns, Experience Australia At Its Finest
Around 1928 the Cairns International airport (CNS) began to take shape, at first being used by Tom McDonald, a local business man. Renovation of the airport started in 1982 with the runway being lengthened and then the international terminal was constructed. In 2007 the domestic terminal was upgraded and the building and other facilities were expanded. Having to separate terminals in two different buildings makes it easier for passengers to find their way around the massive airport.
The parking at this airport it either categorized as short-term or long-term. There is a covered car parking area and an area for disabled travelers is located between both the international and domestic terminals to create easy transportation for all.
