You can reserve a hotel in Ljubljana or you can make discount airport transportation reservations.

There is city transportation; they run every 5 or 10 minutes during rush hour and 15 to 30 minutes outside of those times. There are some lines that run 24 hours a day. You’ll need an Urbana card to ride; you can get those at the tourist information center also. The taxis that line the streets tend to cost more than if you call ahead for a taxi. Be careful with some of the street taxis that are expensive if you can’t pay your fare they will take your valuables and they can get a little snippy.

Ljubljana Restaurants
Try a burger at Hot Horse; this Slovene style burger is good and cheap. Go to Falafel to get a sandwich of the same name for 3 EUROS you get two dishes, tea, and a dessert. To eat at the most expensive restaurant in town visit “As” a seafood restaurant they also have the best wine collection in town. You’ll find many little quaint and busy cafés that line the streets near the river.

About Ljubljana Airport
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport abbreviated LJU located 15 miles (24km) north west of Ljubljana right near Brnik village. It serves more than one million passengers each year. Ljubljana itself is the largest city and the capital of Slovenia. You won’t find big named attractions here, but you will find city sponsored events, winter holiday decorations, and Trnfest in August.

The city is pronounced luoob-lyAH-nah. The city is full of museums, galleries and artists. Ljubljana Tourist information center is located at Adamič-Lundrovo nabrežje 2 which is next to the Triple Bridge or the other one is located at Trg Osvobodilne fronte 6 which is Inside Railway Station. Many people speak a little English; people speak Slovenian and people that are generally over 40 will also speak Bosnian, Croatian, or even Serbian.

Things to do in Ljubljana
There are plenty of things to do in Ljubljana, from its many famous bridges to the many museums. A few things you should make sure to visit include Ljubljana Castle, the Roman Ruins, and the Water City of Atlantis.

Ljubljana Castle is free but there is an admission fee for the tower. Included with the admission is a history lesson in the form of a 3D Movie. The Roman Ruins where the original city walls stood are west of the city center. Some of the remains include the pillars for the entrance gates. Water City of Atlantis has 14 pools, slides, thermal pools and saunas.
