Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a theme park situated in James City County, in the state of Virginia. The park was opened on May 16, 1975 and is just near Anheuser-Busch’s brewery. The park has a theme centered around Sesame Street and old-world Europe.

About Busch Gardens
The park was initially called Busch Gardens: The Old Country, which reflected a European Theme. The resort park was then called Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 1993 before later being renamed Busch Gardens Europe back in 2006. In 2008 it was once again renamed to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The park has an estimated 3.1 million visitors each year, which placed it among the top 20 most visited parks in America.

In addition to the European theme and its landscaping, Busch Gardens is renowned for its roller coasters, which include Apollo’s Chariot, Alpengeist and Griffon, which won number 4 for the best steel roller coaster in 2012 during the Golden Ticket Awards.

The theme park has a combination of Broadway-style shows and roller coasters. The park is divided into “countries,” each with its own style of music and food. Rides in each of the park’s sections are also themed to the specific country where its located in.
